The home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth is known as the "Palace of the Peak". It's set in 1000 acres of beautiful parkland and is open to the public. The house contains one of Europe’s finest private art collections and its spectacular interior tells the story of its 450 year history.
The 105 acre garden contains a huge yew maze, plus the rose, cottage, kitchen and sensory gardens. The famous waterworks include the twenty four steps of the 300 year old Cascade, falling 200 yards down the hill (visible to the right of the house), the willow tree fountain, the trough waterfall, and Revelation, the water-powered sculpture.
