With the increase in foreign package holidays caused by cheap air travel, it's nice to still see busy beaches at Britain's coastal resorts. Woolacombe is popular both with surfers for its waves, and with families for its long golden sands. The current popularity of vivid beach tents and wind breaks creates a colourful scene at weekends in high season.
